Pastor Randall is our new Vicar!

Dear Christ Church Family,

As you know, Pastor Randall has been serving as our supply clergy for the past two years. While in the beginning he just came on Sundays to preach and celebrate the Eucharist, over time he has become more and more involved with our parish, starting the healing ministry, visiting the sick, and generally becoming an integral part of our church family. This being the case, Pastor Randall and your Bishop’s Committee decided to contact the diocese to see how we might officially recognize his deeper commitment to Christ Church. In response, Bishop Rowe suggested that Pastor Randall be named as our Vicar, a suggestion that the Bishop’s Committee enthusiastically endorsed! Thus, as of Oct. 9, 2023  Rev. Randall Frenz is now our Vicar!

Practically speaking, Pastor Randall’s role at Christ Church will not change significantly and he will continue his full-time ministry as Chaplain at Bethesda Lutheran Services. However, he is now making himself available for pastoral visits and consultations, as his schedule permits. Feel free to contact him if you would like to meet with him or have him visit. All he asks is that you be patient with him as he has to work around his time at Bethesda.

We are working on arranging a visit from Bishop Rowe to perform an installation ceremony. At that time we plan to have a special celebration of his ministry among us.

Update: On Sunday April 14, 2024 Craig Dressler, Diocesan Canon for Ministry Development celebrated the Renewal of Ministry with us at our 10 AM service, a formal reception of Rev. Frenz as our Vicar. A video recording of the service may be found here.
